About me

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a city shaped by the sea and the mountains. Whenever I need to clear my mind, I seek out landscapes that combine these two elements. Luckily, in Scotland, I am never far from such scenery.

After earning my bachelor’s degree in economics from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets, I completed a master’s degree (in economics) at the University of Edinburgh, followed by a second master’s degree (in statistics for data science) at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. I then returned to Scotland to pursue my PhD at the University of Strathclyde. In January 2023, I joined Strathclyde's Department of Management Science as a Teaching Assistant.

My research interests include natural language processing, Bayesian econometrics, and energy economics. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching tennis, which often inspires the examples I use in my lectures. I also like to do pottery, but rest assured: it does not make its way into my teaching materials!
